Out with Kedar on Wed--dead night for both, although I did open a few. Met at Trafalgar--walked around--then to south bank and back...around and around...
I opened two girls takning photos of the merry-go-round--asked them about "Candy Floss". 2 second joke about candy floss vs. cotton candy. Asked a woman if she had a kid on the merry-go-round. Maybe she was married, but that one went better. Stalled after that...talked a bunch w/Kedar about issues w/friends, etc. I was frustrated with my inability, so I came up with this idea to walk really fast and with a lot of energy--as I've seen him do--and Charlie had a bit of this as well when we were out in Jan. This helped--went to Porterhouse, asked a girl if she was drinking what was obviously her friend or boyfriend's beer. Didn't go anywhere, but I did it. Also an approach in teh Langley using the Cape Cod thing.
Out again tonight--Angel. Kedar is still off--but I opened two (not very attractive) women--one wearing a Wicked shirt. Thought it was about the play--but it said Wicked and Wild! So I said "are you?" --slight foray into cheekiness. This is good. Also walked by 2 girls and asked if they knew what Wax Jambu meant--went great, and we chatted for ages--PC, politics, American accents, etc. Girl was middle-class--could have been cute, i think--had a kid. Definitely a lingering handshake from her when we left ;)
Skipped the Living Room this time, but went to the usual places--Rose something or other and some other ones up off of Upper St. All went fine--but no more than a few seconds. No follow-ups or blowouts. Kedar got frustrated and left--which was probably a good thing since I felt I was being dragged down a bit. I opened a girl who had been following me for awhile--said something about her loud walking...she either smiled or smirked but it wasn't very nice. Asked how far Russel Sq. was--she said FAR and brushed me off. BItch. Asked a couple girls where Tesco was--they kept walking but I yelled at them. A few other interactions on my own...None went great after the initial one with Kedar--but I'm feeling more and more like I CAN do this--but especially with the help of some successes! So while, in terms of the numbers and conversations, I haven't accomplished what I did last year--inner game is getting more solid and more stable so I don't think I'll have too much trouble getting to the next level.
What a positive note to leave on!
